A Letter From Our President

Dear Friends and Supporters,

During this season of hope and giving, we at the New Hampshire Breast Cancer Coalition (NHBCC) hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. As we close out our 30th year of advocating for and providing assistance to NH residents with breast cancer, we extend our sincerest gratitude for your past support that makes our work possible.

1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime with about 85% of breast cancers occurring in women who have no family history of breast cancer. Since our inception in 1992, the NHBCC has worked hard to both support those impacted by breast cancer and advocate for meaningful policy and research to end breast cancer.

The NHBCC remains focused on two priorities: Our Support Services Fund (SSF) and supporting the National Breast Cancer Coalition’s (NBCC) Legislative and Public Policies. But our work is not done, and we cannot do it without your help.

Our SSF helps and average of 100 women and men per year who are unable to meet their basic needs due to a cancer diagnosis and treatment. That translates to more than 1200 individuals since we began the fund in 2006 and more than $850,000 in aid to help cover the essentials of daily living such as rent, utilities, heating fuel, food, transportation to name a few. This is the kind of life changing work that you make possible through your continued donations to NHBCC.

Our work also includes immersive education in the most current science of breast cancer through NBCC’s Project LEAD and their annual summit in Washington, DC., as well as meaningful conversations with our representatives in Congress. We are beyond grateful that all four members of our congressional delegation support our legislative priorities providing funding for breast cancer research and policy ensuring access to care.

If you have recently donated to NHBCC, thank you. If not, we hope that you consider us in your charitable giving. 100% of your contribution is used to continue our work for the people of New Hampshire. Our tax ID number is 02-0458315 and your contribution is tax deductible as allowed for by law.

Gratefully,

Dian McCarthy

President, NHBCC
